to the web home of Canada's least-well-known basement band.

What kind of music is this?...

We like to think of it a bit like Country Lounge meets Country Funk... a little sleazy... but good fun too!

While some of our live covers were done for the pure fun of jammin... our originals are also available for anyone who wants to cover (with some financial consideration in case the cover actually makes money!).

We may have got a little carried away with the post production (my very skilled Los DustBunny cohort and good friend Bradley is a professional perfectionist... how he must suffer working with me)... but I am very satisfied with the quality and feel of this music.

Apologies to any video source of original footage... I will remove any reference upon request by the original owner or owner's rep. I have given credit where credit is due.

Give a listen and enjoy!

This new music video celebrates that.

Enjoy

Dream About... was written when I was really depressed...

thinking about how humankind has these "great" ambitions to do better... be first... save the world... etc... and yet these same dreams seem to (most often than not) turn into major screwups!...

it's true that we cannot see accurately past our immediate needs... dreams about the future inherently have risks... and often they end up horribly wrong...

we all end up paying for it!...
forever!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3328131426990260094.post-57487918095945012802011-10-16T21:39:00.000-04:002011-10-17T21:43:10.330-04:00Daylight's Coming

This song was produced in Brad's computer... with all of the musical parts other than lead vocal being done by him... he is a powerhouse talent.

I wrote the song and lyrics and together we made the music. After Brad finished the main background track, I sang the lead... then Brad added finishing touches including the additional background vocals.

I have taken some clips from Van Helsing movie and ran some effects and timing changes to make fit... if this was a made for money project I would not have used this video materials... but as this is just for fun... I feel no guilt.

Los DustBunnies (aka GatorFace aka Mumble Kings) is a basement studio band in Ottawa Canada (currently in limbo because of multiple other committments)

I started jamming on wednesday nights with Brad Campbell in an unscripted play for fun kinda moment about 7 years ago. Sessions usually began with dinner and wine with Brad's partner Martine and their pack of dogs... Brad and I would retire to the basement with one of us bringing forward a song idea that together we jammed, improved and fumbled our way through... headphones on and relishing the spontenaity of it all.... sometimes with surprising results. Seldom were music or lyrics fully developed or written down... obvious from the recorded results.

This is one of those moments. Brad took the gem of my idea from the early session and layed down all the music tracks (did I mention he is a genius talent?)... I arrived the next week to lay down the vocals.

This track has been sitting on a few cds amongst friends and on this blog for a while now.

I have recently been creating music videos for friends... and have now taken a shot at this early DustBunnies favourite.

The video footage is taken from the amazing 1940 Tacoma Narrows Bridge self-destruction... called "Gallopin' Gertie"... where winds caused the bridge to start shaking and swaying and eventually fall apart November 7, 1940.

More to come... hope you enjoy.

Stanley
Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3328131426990260094.post-83794052400056672952007-08-08T07:50:00.001-04:002011-11-24T10:29:17.417-05:00Slow Train Blues (2011)New Video
Seldom were music or lyrics fully developed or written down... obvious from the recorded results.

This is one of those moments. We picked an old standard called Down Home Girl that we were first exposed to thru the Rolling Stones. We turned on the recorder and played thru... 2 guitars... no script... and a couple lyrical ad libs. Brad then added a base part later and voila!

This track has been sitting on a few cds amongst friends and on this blog for a while now.

I have recently been creating music videos for friends... and have now taken a shot at this early DustBunnies favourite.
The video is an edited pile of clips from Dusk Til Dawn... featuring the best snake dance ever... by Salma Hayak. If this a made for money project I would not use this footage... but as it is a made for fun... then what to hell.

More to come... hope you enjoy.

StanleyUnknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3328131426990260094.post-33862631372783950972007-08-02T10:30:00.001-04:002011-11-24T10:39:33.387-05:00See That Lady
